BOGARTS

BOGARTS By  Joseph Jedidah Bogart reaches outside of the hotel, still under Shabazz’s spell, her voice bellowing inside his head, “my beauty, my Bogarts, come for me, come for me” she says. The soothing hypnotic tone, she has him in her crystal ball, completely under her control. Bogarts grips the silver door handle stepping inside the hotel building. He slowly walks down the eerie hallway,  a gloomy ghostly gleam projected by the   ceiling lights, reflecting off his round thin silver frames. He sees the door, the voice echoes more "come to me my beauty, come in, open the door” says the voice. Bogarts opens the door and walks in the room, closing it softly behind him. He sees her, laid on the bed naked, a window by her with ebony ruby pearls around her neck. The moonlight glazes over her body like cream poured on a perfect slice of lemon cake. Suddenly, Frank Vincenzo steps outside of the bathroom, he sees Bogarts. He becomes instantly frantic, he goes for the...

IMEK

IMEK by Joseph Jedidah     The night is alive, the trees speak and the long grass hums, Pinker slave plantation unsettled by an entity awoken. Floyd Pinker hears a howling scream from outside, racing to the porch, holding his shotgun in one hand and a lantern in the other. He rushes outside, aiming the weapon at the darkness, "who's there"? He shouts, "what the hell is going on here" he growls? He sees what appears to be two scarecrows, stuck in the ground in front of his home. Confused by this, he continues to move closer, realising the scarecrows are his sons Lloyd and Boyd. Who were impaled with pikes,  skewered up their backs, against their spines and stuck upright, with their arms stretched out wide.  He turns around, looking back at the house, to see his home on fire. His Wife Dolly and their Daughter Polly standing in front of it, covered in blood with the symbol of a half-moon finger painted on their foreheads. His three other Daughters named Molly, Case...

PIGEON

PIGEON By   Joseph Jedidah A split between affluence and poverty, a row of dilapidated buildings positioned opposite luxurious hotels, casinos and restaurants hosting the elites. In a shadowy alleyway, Pigeon, dressed in dark camouflage, climbs up a damaged fire escape on the side of a building. Reaching the top he then grabs hold of a slab and lifts himself onto the roof. Running to the edge of the front, he drops the sports bag down. Opening the bag, pulling out metal pieces, placing them on the ground in an orderly fashion. He easily assembles the pieces to form a rifle, given to him by Mr Bostock.  He tucks the buttstock under his left armpit, balancing the nozzle on his right forearm. One eye looking down the scope, with the armed weapon pointing at the entrance of  Cesare Palace. Faux golden steps leading up to a long tall door with a triangle point at the top, two thick magenta velvet veils positioned on either side of the door. He sits patiently for hours, anticip...
